Nvidia GeForce GTX 1630
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1630
Nvidia GeForce GTX 1630, While the majority of gamers are interested in Nvidia’s high-end RTX 30 Series (if not the upcoming RTX 40 Series), there is still a sizable market for low-cost graphics cards.
With that in mind, Nvidia is rumoured to be working on a new entry-level graphics card that might sell for approximately $150 – and a Videcardz article gives us a solid idea of the GPU’s features and release date.
From release date and pricing rumours to leaked specifications, here’s everything you need to know about the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1630 right now.
When can we expect the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1630?
The budget-focused Nvidia GTX 1630 is presently set for release on May 31, 2022, according to a Videocardz report describing the new graphics card.
Of course, none of this has been confirmed, but with Nvidia scheduled to hit the stage at Computex 2022 in less than 24 hours, we’re expected to learn more about the graphics card then.
If you want to watch the Nvidia keynote at Computex 2022 live, we have separate instructions, but be aware that depending on where you are in the world, it starts either extremely late or very early.
What is the price of the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1630
It should come as no surprise that Nvidia will aim to sell the GeForce GTX 1630 competitively as an entry-level graphics card, especially in a market in severe need of entry-level solutions.
With top-end graphics cards still scarce, let alone at RRP, crypto-miners are unlikely to be interested in the GTX 1630’s affordable specs. At least, that’s the hope!
While there are no definite pricing rumours for the GTX 1630 at this time, its sibling, the GTX 1650, has an RRP of $149, so we’d expect something similar for the GTX 1630.
Here’s how much the existing GTX 16 series costs:
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 (GDDR5): $149
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 (GDDR6): $149
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Super: $159
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1660: $219
We’ll update this area as soon as we learn more or receive confirmation from Nvidia.
What features does the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1630 have?
All of the information we have right now comes from a Videocardz report, which details nearly every important feature of the new GPU.
As previously said, the GeForce GTX 1630 is a budget graphics card aimed at entry-level gamers, and the specifications reflect this. It’ll be built on the GTX 1650 with “necessary” cuts and a 12nm Turing GPU with different – but not necessarily worse – specs.
According to reports, the GTX 1630 will contain 512 CUDA cores, which is about half of the GTX 1650’s, and a 64-bit memory bus. However, the graphics card is believed to have a boost clock speed of 1800MHz, up from 1590MHz, and although having the same 4GB of GDDR6 VRAM, it is clocked at 12Gbps.
Bottom line
According to the specifications, the graphics card will be aimed at entry-level 1080p gaming, making it perfect for casual gamers who want to play less graphically demanding games and creatives who require a boost in the graphics sector.
